Oldest McKinney Farm Elk Neck and Hart's Cemetery
In Feb. 1998 Dad, mom, Mike and I went to see the current owner of the now grown up farm on the East side of old Elk Neck Rd just South of where McKinneytown Rd ends. We followed up by visiting the cemetery at Hart's Methodist Church where many Elk Neck McKinneys are buried.

Barn foundation rocks with me in the background, Wayne R. McKinney. In 1998 I was 51. My great uncle Harry took me to the location when I was a little boy. I remember it being much more open, more like a meadow. My dad gave him hell, worried that I might have fallen down an old well.

Spring behind and to the right of where the large foundations rocks show where the barn was. The barn was likely two story, with the animals on the lower level with entrance at the back, since the land was sloping downward towards the spring.

The house of the current property owner. He said that he often finds bricks from the original chimney of the old farmhouse, and broken pieces of china when digging on the property. I have one of the bricks that he gave me.
